As part of the rebranding for Caltech Group, a newsletter teasing the new brand was to be sent out to Caltech’s clients. The folks at Caltech wanted me to develop a graphic to help foreshadow the new brand, and in the spirit of the holidays, incorporate the hinted new branding in a festive way.
The first draft I created displayed a traditional Christmas tree graphic with small plus signs as ornaments–the tease for Caltech’s rebranding. After discussing more dynamic and interactive options with the Caltech folks, I developed a second draft which was a gif rather than an image. Featuring a gift box opening to reveal a plus sign to hint at the new branding.
Through Adobe Illustrator I crafted the graphics, ensuring that the moving pieces were organized on separate layers for ease of use when bringing the graphic to life in Adobe After Effects.
