The Cochrane Farmers’ Market volunteers are some of the most hardworking people I’ve met and to be given the opportunity to lend my design talents to their group was so rewarding. 

The signs were developed and designed in Adobe Illustrator primarily utilizing the pen tool. The Farmers’ Market team presented me with the required text, logos and stipulated that the sign reflect their logo. Besides that direction I was free to design the project with my own creative liberties. Focusing on the mountain and the sunrise from their existing logo and bringing in the bright yellow hues, I designed the two signs that would be present at the entrance and exit of the weekly markets. 

The background design of the mountain and sun rays was agreed upon and finalized after the first draft. The following drafts focused on the logo, text and QR code placement. It was a tight turnaround, and it all ended up being completed and printed in less then a week for the start of the 2021 Market By the Bow.
